Lloyds Bank has announced a strategic partnership with Taulia, a leading provider of working capital management solutions and part of the SAP group, to issue Visa-enabled virtual cards embedded within SAP Business Suite solutions.

Through this collaboration, Lloyds will extend credit to customers adopting Taulia’s Virtual Cards solution, enabling companies to issue virtual cards to suppliers all around the world. The aim is to provide a seamless B2B payment process by combining Taulia’s scalable technology with Lloyds’ extensive reach, offering an innovative and fully integrated payment solution tailored to UK businesses.

Danielle Weinblatt, Chief Product Officer at Taulia, highlighted the significance of this partnership:

“Embedding virtual cards directly within the ERP landscape and having Lloyds as an issuing partner is a game-changer for corporate payments. This collaboration redefines how businesses manage spend, bringing greater control, automation, and working capital optimization directly into their existing workflows.”

Linda Weston, Head of Commercial Cards at Lloyds, added:

“We are passionate about helping businesses unlock new value streams and our clients are fast recognising the efficiency and financial benefits of deploying virtual cards for supplier payments. We are thrilled about our partnership with Taulia as it enables truly embedded B2B payments processes in the SAP technology eco-system, making it easy for clients to adopt virtual payments and realise their strategic objectives.”

The integration of Visa’s virtual payment credentials into enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications is expected to simplify the payment process, enhance supplier relationships, reduce fraud risk, and improve cash flow management for businesses.

Lucy Demery, SVP, Head of Visa Commercial Solutions, Visa Europe, explained:

“Visa’s mission is to be the best way to pay and be paid, and embedded finance is a strategic opportunity for us to continue to dream, design and build the future of payments. Visa can help drive transformative change through embedded finance in commercial payments and this is a fantastic example of bringing this to life, with two exceptional partners.”

This partnership underscores the growing trend of embedded finance, which seamlessly integrates financial services into non-financial platforms, enabling businesses to enhance operations and deliver superior customer experiences.
